Sofia Locklear

Dr. Sofia Locklear: is an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. She graduated with her PhD in Sociology from the University of New Mexico and is currently an assistant professor at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Sofia’s research investigates racial inequities, whiteness, and the racialization of Indigenous people. She is also a public health professional who works in the field of Indigenous evaluation with urban Indigenous communities.
